Reply:You can get your hair chemically straightened for realy cheap, but please dont. Cheap chemicals damage your hair even more and it will become frizzy and gross!! But, even more expensive treatments could stil be very damaging to your hair. I think the best thing to do is to go to your hair stylist and ask them about how it affects your hair. I would not personaly reccomend this because my cousin went to a professional to get it chemicaly straightened and her hair got realy thin and fell out!!!

it sorta damages your hair. i mean, they sit you down for hours on end and put chemicals in you hair, wait for a while, wash it off. then they put another mixture into your hair, wait, wash. they just keep repeating it. and in one part they might even stick your hair with the chemicals into plastic strips. thats what my hairstylist did aniwaes.
then after all the hard work and electricity and butt hurting and magazine flipping, they would take out the straightener and straighten your hair. voila~ and that%26#039;s all. mine took about 4 to 5 hours.
it lasts from 6 months to a year. that%26#039;s the norm i suppose. those better ones last longer. and, you%26#039;ve gotta thin out your hair before you get it straightened. because if it%26#039;s all thick and striaght, it kinda looks like a broomstick. lols.
good luck! of course it%26#039;s worth it. the damage is definitely lesser damage than you would get by straightening it youself nearly daily. it lasts a long time, easy to take care of. when you wake up, you can just run a comb through it and you%26#039;re taken care of. (: try it.

When I was a kid I used an over-the-counter hair straightener, a relaxer. DO NOT GET IT! Number one, you really need to understand that all relaxers, dispite what type of hair you have, will damage you hair ROOT TO TIP! Number two, it%26#039;s really, really embarassing to have your hair break off rather easily when your out in public. Number three, there is NOTHING you can do to make your hair look anything close to healthy when you relax it. You hair will look dry, stringy, and nasty.
Just remember, if you have to deal with chemicals yourself... DON%26#039;T DO IT.

- take hairspray and spray in hands and srunch with head rightside up again, but scrunch adn then slowly take your hand off, because you are basically forming the scrunches and allowing them to look good

What's wrong with my hair?
I am a 17 year old Haitian girl. I used a relaxer since i was about 11 years old. Ever since that, my hair has been breaking off. So when i was in the 7th grade i cut my hair short (fantasia style). The middle of my head has always been the shortest and it would always hurt every time you pull or touch it. Now I%26#039;m gonna be a senior and my hair grew back a little bit but the middle of my head never grows and it still hurts. Also im starting to loose more hair in different parts of my head. My doctor told me to use head and shoulders for 3 months but that didn%26#039;t work. Can anybody tel me what to do please. My mom don%26#039;t want to send me to a hair salon again (it started getting to expensive) PLEASE ASAP!

so i wash my hair every other day becuase it dries it out to wash it more, i have really curly dry hair but i straighten it everyday, which is fine and usually works pretty good. for like the last month my hair has be exacly how i wanted it to be, it must have be something i was doing with my hair routine, i think i left my conditioner in longer or somethin. but it was silky smooth and not dry at all, i loved it... but for some reason the other day when i washed it, it was dry and frizzy and wolnt straighted as good, i haven changed anything, i dont think, how can i get my hair back to how it was?

I don%26#039;t know....my hair smells fine, but I have noticed that when I scratch my head really hard and dandruff gets stuck under my fingernails, it smells strange. Does anyone else have this problem? How do you fix it?

Use Head and Shoulders - if you%26#039;d like to use a different conditioner, that%26#039;s fine...just make sure to use the shampoo. Good luck!

Use this to scratch the heck out of your scalp when you%26#039;re washing your hair. Then rinse and shampoo again (or whatever you like). Your scalp with feel a lot better and, no dandruff.

my hair is really damaged from straightening it every day. i always use heat protection spray and if i dont straighten my hair, it looks like crap. i tried scrunching my hair to give it a break but my hair doesnt get curly. is there anything i can use to bring my hair back to life???

I have thick, wavy, messy hair! It%26#039;s really uncontrolable and my mornings are so quick I have no time to style. I need something that is wash and wear. They work great and are worth the money..a word of caution though..I%26#039;ve only been using the straightening part of it and now I can%26#039;t close my straightener to curl my hair. :( They work fine, but there%26#039;s a bigger chance of burning yourself while straightening since the curling part also gets hot.

after awhile, the straighteners started to snag on my hair and gave me tons of split ends. the one i currently have is supposed to be like a wet 2 straight, but also curl and straighten too. ive had to take it back 3 times because it started clicking and tugging, once again.

They work great and are worth the money..a word of caution though..I%26#039;ve only been using the straightening part of it and now I can%26#039;t close my straightener to curl my hair. :( They work fine, but there%26#039;s a bigger chance of burning yourself while straightening since the curling part also gets hot.

ive bought about 4 in the last 3 years.
they never worked like the people said they would and i just couldnt curl my hair.
after awhile, the straighteners started to snag on my hair and gave me tons of split ends. the one i currently have is supposed to be like a wet 2 straight, but also curl and straighten too. ive had to take it back 3 times because it started clicking and tugging, once again.
but there is this one straightener i would like to try, the kiyosaki straightener

then choose one out of the MILLION pictures there are on photobucket
and take it to your hairstylist...
and p.s. if you were really emo you would wanna get your own individual style......

I want it to be semi easy and quick if possible to do this and it to look at least a litle smooth thx!

Do I need a hair intervention?
Last November, I shaved off my dreadlocks (I am a girl, BTW), and was left with a vulnerable, fuzzy head. I endured the baldness, and eventually my hair got to a funky length where I could spike it and muss it up and it looked pretty rocking. NOW, however...it is May, and my hair has reached this intolerably AWKWARD length where it is about 3.5 inches long and goes down just past my ears. At the back though, the hair looks longer (because it is lower on my head), so it almost looks like I have this moppy mullett. On a good day, I can tie the mullett into pig tails and it looks ok, but most of the time when it isn%26#039;t in pigtails, I think it looks pretty boring and awkward...so...what should I do?
Should I continue to endure the stupid growing out process and just leave it as it is?
