Awkward Question Warning: Does your dandruff smell badly?

I don%26#039;t know....my hair smells fine, but I have noticed that when I scratch my head really hard and dandruff gets stuck under my fingernails, it smells strange. Does anyone else have this problem? How do you fix it?

head and shoulders
Awkward Question Warning: Does your dandruff smell badly?
ask your doctor for a special shampoo that can be better than head and shoulders
Reply:DON%26#039;T USE HEAD AND SHOULDERS

Reply:Dandruff is actually caused by to much oil - dry scalp is like dandruff - but your scalp is dry, causing it to flake - use a hydrating shampoo - and wash your hair at least every other day.

Good luck
Reply:Since you have dandruff, your hair is probably a bit naturally greasy as well. This scent was probably the grease coming off while you scratched your head. Use Head and Shoulders - if you%26#039;d like to use a different conditioner, that%26#039;s fine...just make sure to use the shampoo. Good luck!
Reply:I don%26#039;t think that chemicals will ever exfoliate, which is what needs to be done to remove dandruff. What does work is mechanical exfoliation (as if there was another way). I%26#039;m not sure what these things are called but they look like a plastic handle, a flat surface the size of the palm of your hand, and spikes cover its whole area. Use this to scratch the heck out of your scalp when you%26#039;re washing your hair. Then rinse and shampoo again (or whatever you like). Your scalp with feel a lot better and, no dandruff.
